Headcanons about fleetway Mobius and Amy ahoy!

[pic to come!]

A thread for any comments, concerns or critiques of how I'm roleplaying Miss. Rose! Don't be shy!
[OOC]
Backtagging: Go for it, why not
Threadhopping: Sure, no problem!
Fourthwalling: I can't imagine there'd be many people who are familiar with the Fleetway comics. They might mistake her for other versions of Amy Rose, such as her game persona, but to accurately make comments about this Amy Rose requires very specific knowledge, so I doubt it'll come up.
Offensive subjects: Certainly will need a heads up on certain topics. Sexual abuse/manipulation/rape I'm reluctant to roleplay or discuss in character, especially given that Amy is a minor.  If you're not certain or want to check about a situation, then just drop me a line and we can talk about it.

[IC]
Hugging this character: Given how affectionate Amy is she'd be up for hugs!
Kissing this character: Kiss on the cheek, yeah. You can go for a lip kiss but she might not approve!
Flirting with this character: Sure. She might even flirt back if she's feeling playful.
Sex/relationship/shipping with this character: MAYBE. It'd need development and a buildup. I'm not roleplaying anything sexual - Amy is only about 13 here - but a relationship I'd be game for.
Fighting with this character: Hell yeah. Be it sparring or a more serious fight, I'd be totally up for some fisticuffs. So long as it's played fair (no sudden AND THEN I DODGE EVERYTHING AND FIRE MY SUPER MOON LASER CANNONS AND AMY DIES business) then I'd love to get into some scrapes. I hardly mind losing on occasion too.
Injuring this character: Of course. Nothing permanent or disfiguring though. If you want to discuss it then just message me.
Killing this character: No, thank you.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Go for it. No possessing though, unless it's discussed and agreed on beforehand.

Setting: Mobius in this universe is a world formed of lush forests, tropics, deserts, a vast ocean, metropolises and ancient ruins known as 'zones', which are connected not just by borders but by portals that allow travelers to teleport across the world. The people largely lived without rule, settling matters through civil proceedings and peaceful means. Rumours of secret lands were popular and portals to other zones far away, or even to other dimensions, were somewhat common yet dangerous to explore alone. The people lived simply and happily.

Until Robotnik came. By sending Sonic into the future, he was able to gain complete domination of the planet. Under his rule the people had to submit to his whims and desires lest they be captured by his robots and encased in metal themselves, turned into drones. They were put to work in his factories and their economy had to be filtered under Robotnik's eye. Entire zones were razed and turned into Chemical Plants, oil refineries and factories.  The destruction of zones misplaced many people from their homes and tore apart acres of farmland. If he felt under-appreciated by the people, Robotnik would order raids, snatching random people from their homes to be prosecuted and robotized. It was a dark age in Mobian history.

Six months after vanishing, Sonic returned. Whereas before he worked to stop Robotnik from taking over, he now had the far more difficult job of liberating the planet. With his friends, Sonic formed the Freedom Fighters and worked underground to try and cause chaos to Robotnik's empire. This became the status quo for many years; Robotnik unable to capture and stop the Fighters and the Fighters unable to deal any longstanding blows to Robotnik's rule. Amidst this ongoing battle the Freedom Fighters had to fend off other invaders hoping to claim the planet for themselves. The people of Mobius themselves couldn't often help. Desperate times make good people do bad things, often to protect their families or gain what they needed to survive, although some were outright loyal to the tyrant. Even those who wished for better days often kept their heads down, to avoid drawing Robotnik's watching eye.

When Robotnik's systems were wiped out, due to an extremely powerful pulse of electromagnetic energy that corrupted all computerised systems, the people were able to overthrow the tyrant an claim back their home. Since then, Mobius has been slowly trying to recover from Robotnik's rule. The electromagnetic pulse damaged several non-Robotnik computer systems, such as those used in hospitals, which had to be repaired. Agriculture took a heavy hit under Robotnik's rule as much of the land was dug up and used for factories, prisons and cities, including Citadel Robotnik, and entire zones were wiped off the planet in place for Robotnik's constructions. Several people are still missing after vanishing into the jaws of Robotnik's robot plants, as he often sent his prisoners and completed badniks to various parts of the world. Those who were reunited are readjusting to life together - some victims of Robotnik's need assistance in returning to everyday life. And a mysterious, once only rumoured of land has been marked on the Mobian map - the floating Angel Island, home to Knuckles and the Shrine of Emeralds.

Unfortunately, the continued attacks from Robotnik and other forces constantly hinder the healing process, meaning that Mobius is unlikely to fully recover for years, possibly twice as many as Robotnik ruled for. The cities and factories Robotnik built for his machines, while largely abandoned, continue to be painful memories of what they once stood for and the damage they cause to the environment might take decades to nullify, if the damage is reversible at all. And there's stirrings of political unrest, as each zone attempts to elect leaders in an effort to protect themselves from future take-overs, and decide how best to manage their affairs. After Robotnik's assistant Grimer released the monster Chaos, much of the land suffered intense flooding and the Floating Island fell, sinking beneath the ocean.

Currently life in Mobius is peaceful, but not as ample or easy as it used to be. Luxury foods, such as sugar, certain fruits and plants are still rare to find in markets. Thankfully several seeds were preserved from demolished zones, meaning the crops can make a recovery in new lands over time. Rebuilding efforts have been prioritized so people can have homes again, although some have settled in the now free cities Robotnik established such as the Metropolis Zone. The merging of Mobius with another planet Robotnik attempted to capture has resulted in more portals and more zones to explore.

History: Years ago Mobius was primarily peaceful with no outright leaders in any zone; only Mobians living within their means. Unfortunately, a tragic accident involving the Chaos Emeralds and a rotten egg saw the kind scientist Dr. Kintobor transform into Dr. Robotnik, a madman obsessed with taking control of Mobius. And, by sending Sonic and several of his friends into the future, he succeeded; when Sonic reappeared six months later, the entire world had been enslaved by Robotnik. Chemical Plants, Badnik Factories and fortresses were a staple of the land, with entire zones being razed for them. People were monitored and, if they didn't abide by his rule, would be put to work in his factories, turned into living batteries for his machinery or killed. Thus began the RBR (Ruled by Robotnik) era of Mobius and the beginning of the first war between the Freedom Fighters and Robotnik.

During Robotnik's Rule

Shortly after Robotnik's takeover, Amy Rose was arrested for associating with the traitor, Sonic the Hedgehog. That is, she was claiming to be his girlfriend. She was taken to Robotnik's fortress in the Special Zone and prepped to be turned into a cybernik - a unique type of badnik modelled after it's 'battery', from which there's no escape. Thankfully she was rescued before the process was complete by Sonic and Johnny Lightfoot and the trio escaped to the Freedom Fighter's base. Given her new status as a wanted criminal, it was decided that Amy had to stay and join the team despite Sonic's annoyance.

Sadly her next adventures saw her being kidnapped - first by the Mystic Cave pirates, in order to lure Sonic into a trap so they could find the Chaos Emeralds. However she soon showed her quick thinking, brokering a deal; the Freedom Fighters would give the pirates information on Robotnik's freighters routes and cargo, enabling them to steal the best supplies for themselves. In turn, the pirates would assist the Fighters at a later date. That day would soon come as Robotnik's forces captured the group; luckily Sonic used the deal with the pirates to have them storm the transport, assisting them in freeing the other prisoners. The deal was short lived as the pirates attempted to steal the Chaos Emeralds, only for them to be recovered by Sonic in no time.

Her next kidnapper was none other than Metallix (aka Metal Sonic) over by Never Lake, where she had discovered Robotnik attempting to make Miracle Planet, a small planet that appears once a month over the lake, a base for his operations. While Sonic and Metallix battled at the lake, Amy was taken as live bait to Miracle Planet as the planet disappeared, meaning only she and Sonic could attempt to librate it. Using the time stones Sonic was able to go back in time and prevent the events that lead to Robotnik enslaving the planet, including Metallix's construction. Amy mentions that it'll only be them two for a month until the planet reappears; Sonic ultimately faked being lost for several days to avoid her.

Following their return from Miracle Planet, Robotnik's Death Egg was destroyed and fell from orbit, crashing into something - Angel Island, the legendary floating island, believed to be a myth by many Mobians (including Amy). Here Sonic met Knuckles who, convinced by Robotnik that Sonic was a danger to the island and the chaos Emeralds, immediately began to battle with him. He even freed Robotnik from where he was being kept prisoner and interrogated by the Freedom Fighters. Yet Knuckles kept a secret hidden from Robotnik; the seventh Emerald, capable to controlling the others. Using this he prevented Robotnik from using the Chaos Emeralds power and cast him away from the island. Knuckles rescuing Robotnik had a major consquence however; the discovery of the Freedom Fighters base. The group gathered their resources just as Robotnik attacked. Thankfully Knuckles returned to help them defend themselves, allowing them to escape once more. From here on they took up the disguise of a traveling circus, staying on the move and performing for the people of Mobius to both hide from Robotnik's forces and to lift the spirits of the citizens under Robotnik's rule. Amy took the role of an impalement act; Porker Lewis acted as her living target.

Following their forced move, Amy began to sharpen and toughen up, wanting to be taken more seriously. She created her own crossbow and began to fight badniks on her own, as Sonic ventured to Angel island to stop Robotnik's Death Egg from being relaunched. Upon succeeding, the people of Emerald Hill were evacuated to the Mushroom Hill Zone on the island, to protect them from Robotnik's experiments. Others would later be saved from Badnik Processing Plants and teleported there. This would be their home for several years, until Robotnik was overthrown. The group attempted to recruit Knuckles but he (correctly) stated that they only brought trouble to the island, and asked them to leave. The closing note on this arc is that after his failure in launching the Death Egg, Robotnik made a new base; Citadel Robotnik, located in the heart of the Metropolis Zone.

As the dust settled from these events, a new threat arose; the Brotherhood of Metallix, operating from within Robotnik's old base in the Special Zone. This danger was so great that Robotnik proposed an alliance with the Freedom Fighters in order to prevent the Brotherhood from taking over Mobius. Dispatching onto Miracle Planet, where they intended to build their own base, they attempted to foil their attempts. Sadly the device planted to turn the world to metal wasn't stopped in time, and the Freedom fighters had to leave one of their own, Porker Lewis, behind to try and deactivate the device as Miracle Planet vanished for the month.

In the meantime, Robotnik continued to reign terror upon Mobius and resumed his efforts against the Freedom Fighters, unveiling a new Trooper; Brutus, programmed with Robotnik's personality and thought processes. While Amy insisted on Sonic continuing to fight when she was seized by the robot, he refused to put her life in danger and they were chained together and paraded through the streets to demoralise the citizens. Thankfully Amy was able to grab one of the Troopers guns and shoot Brutus, providing them with an opening to escape. As Brutus pursued it seemed that their efforts would be in vain, only for Sonic to lose his cool and turn Super. Brutus attempted to use Amy as a shield against Super Sonic, almost getting her killed when Super Sonic didn't stop or even slow in his attacks. It was enough to force Brutus to retreat and Sonic transformed back, thankfully without injuring his allies.

After this, Miracle Planet reappeared; and had been taken over. Sonic and the Chaotix ventured there to rescue Porker Lewis and to revert the damage they had caused, including going back in time to alter Mobius' history. While they were able to destroy the Brotherhood via self destruct switch implanted by Robotnik, the truama of his captivity drove Porker to resign from the Freedom Fighters, causing an argument within the group. It was eventually resolved and Porker went to live on Angel Island, away from the constant battle against Robotnik.

The Freedom Fighters continued to apply pressure to Robotnik despite this loss, Amy doing her part by deleting files of Robotnik's plans for upcoming weapons and assisting in freeing people from holding cells to be transported to Badnik Processing Plants. This is where Amy began to try prove herself, taking out an enemy Sonic couldn't defeat - while giving him full credit for her deed. At this time, the citizens of Mobius began to demonstrate against Robotniks, organising rallies and protests. Sadly this led to Robotnik dispatching his forces to inspire fear in the people and arresting more people for nameless crimes.

During a visit to Porker and while talking about Amy, Sonic turned Super again due to falling into the Emerald Altar. He then immediately shot off intending to kill Amy and, upon finding her, destroying the caravan that had been their base and home. Amy managed to avoid him long enough to come up with a plan; using the Tornado as a decoy she managed to trick Super Sonic into thinking she, Johnny and Tails were aboard, thus making him think he had killed them all when he destroyed it. However this also meant that, as he changed back, Sonic thought he had killed his own friends. He went on the run until they were able to track him down to a shady bar in Metropolis, where he had once again lost control and was on a rampage as Super Sonic. With the help of Kintobor, their computer, Amy lured Super Sonic towards a Star Post - a portal to the Special zone activated by speed - and drained the chaos energy from him. The result turned Sonic back to normal but also caused Super Sonic to exist independent of Sonic in the Special Zone.

To deal with this, Sonic entered the Special Zone but ended up trapped there indefinitely. During this time Amy took charge of the Freedom Fighters, organising raids and rescue missions against Robotnik in Sonic's stead. This also lead to Shortfuse, a cybernik with his mind still intact, briefly joining the team. A bonus is that he introduced them to Tekno, who offered her underground lab as a base for the Freedom Fighters and joined the group too as their resident engineer. While Amy didn't agree with Shortfuse's methods, eventually leading to her kicking Shortfuse out of their team, she and Tekno proved to get along as well as a house on fire.

Events began to reach a head. Sonic's adventures in the Special Zone were leading to their conclusion. Robotnik discovered the Emerald Hill folk on Angel island and moved to turn them into a completely biologically powered supercomputer, opposed by Knuckles.

Amy lead the Freedom Fighters into an attack on Citadel Robotnik while the tyrant was absent. But upon seeing the people being rounded up for absurd crimes, Amy decided they couldn't leave them in the hands of the troopers and altered the plan to an outright attack. This action led to their capture but also spurred the citizens into fighting back, freeing them and leading to the beginning of a world-wide revolt. As reinforcements were called in by Robotnik's second in command Grimer, Amy and Johnny headed for the Citadel to grab weapons for the rebellion. They were halted by more of Robotnik's forces, when Sonic's actions in the Special Zone caused a powerful electromagnetic pulse of energy to sweep over Mobius; rendering every piece of electrical equipment in the world useless. Though Robotnik attempted to activate a backup generator within his Citadel it was swiftly destroyed by Sonic.

This became the historic VR day, the final victory over Robotnik that saw his grip on Mobius finally break. With no badniks or robots to enforce and uphold his law, Robotnik had lost all control of the planet. The people celebrated in the streets with music, food, partying and dancing, with Amy securing a dance with Sonic for the occasion. It wouldn't be the end of Robotnik's attempts to control Mobius as he had escaped capture, but the Freedom fighters were no longer fighting an uphill battle in a hostile world.

Free Mobius

Things were somewhat peaceful for a time. Amy was among the people to welcome the Emerald Hill people home from the Floating Island. As Sonic and Tails departed on an adventure to Flicky Island, Amy wrapped up some loose ends at home; discovering the fate of Shortfuse following the pulse wave, clearing out the ruins of the Citadel, taking some rare days off with Tekno and, when Sonic returned, the two of them reinstalled the computer systems in the first Freedom Fighter base. It was all short-lived as Robotnik returned, now with the alliance of the Drakon Empire; he knocked out Tails and Amy, defeated Sonic with his Metallix robot (modeled after Knuckles) and left, through Tails was able to follow before the portal vanished. This would be only the beginning of Mobius' troubles with the Drakon Empire.

Left behind, Amy continued to maintain and care for Mobius in their absence, going on many adventures with Tekno from helping the various citizens of Emerald Hill to teleporting into space to rescuing Shortfuse from hostile aliens. Eventually Sonic returned and gathered the Freedom Fighters together again to clear out Robotnik's base on Flicky Island, although something went horribly wrong; all their equipment was sabotaged, including Amy's crossbow. The traitor was revealed to be Johnny, or rather, a creature known as a Shayde, disguised as Johnny. In defeating them the Flicky base was destroyed and the Shaydes locked away from Mobius for good.

On another trek with Tekno into the Snowy Mountains Zone, the pair investigated an odd energy signal while avoiding various traps and puzzles, eventually finding the Ring of Eternity - an artifact that was the very spirit of Mobius. By traversing the obstacles to the Ring, they had proven themselves worthy. As agents of the Ring, Amy and Tekno began to travel across time, space and dimensions to bring peace and order to many different worlds, from primitive societies to alien spaceships to the future of Mobius itself. As a reward for their work, Amy was even taken to witness the birth of life on Mobius. While eventually released from this service, Amy is still willing to be called back should the Ring ever need her help again.

As a last favour, the Ring allowed Tekno to install new technology into it, including a homing device linked to the members of the Freedom Fighters. Testing this new tech Amy appeared beside Sonic on a distant world as he was trying to find his way home to Mobius. Unfortunately an immediate fight broke her homing device so they had to search manually while dealing with knightly horses riding dinosaurs, being forced into a death race (during which Amy managed to turn the tables on their captors and take command of their ship), fighting off Medusa and various other monsters and, naturally, stopping Robotnik from taking control of the planet. Due to his machine malfunctioning, both Mobius and this alien world were merged, creating a Mobius with new Zones and new portals, both within Mobius and to Earth for the heroes to explore.

After Amy and Sonic had explored these Zones and secured them a new crisis occurred - Mobius' eco-system began to collapse, causing wild weather fluxes and slowly killing life. All the Freedom fighters, including Knuckles and Shortfuse, scrambled to prevent further damage and to protect the people while finding the cause. Robotnik, releasing he might not rule again, had opted to destroy Mobius with the assistance of an alien race known as the Plax. By draining the energies of Mobius, Earth and the Plax themselves, Robotnik sought to gain ultimate power to use in wiping out Mobius entirely.  Thanks to their intervention, the Fighters stopped this plan and restored the eco-system.

This last defeat was too much for Robotnik, who fell into an angry depression. In an attempt to spur him on, Grimer released the creature known as Chaos - a monster of the Drakon Empire that craved the Chaos Emeralds and could freeze people in place with fear - mistakenly thinking he could control it. In battle, Chaos proved to be a fearsome enemy. While the Freedom Fighters managed to drive him back, the victory came at a high cost. Johnny Lightfoot was killed in the conflict.

Johnny's death devastated the team. While Amy tried to keep it together, Sonic in particular struggled with his emotions and blamed himself for what had happened. Unable to bear the thought that more of his friends might die, Sonic ran away, stating he would never return. Amy reached out to Knuckles about this in time to see Chaos appear at the altar, and urged Tails to fly to Angel island immediately. They arrived as the island began to fall, with Knuckles in despair over having to eject the Emeralds to stop Chaos getting them. They were able to force Knuckles to leave the falling island and from there Amy convinced him to come with them to stop Chaos.

While Sonic briefly reappeared he soon vanished into the past with Tikal, leaving the remaining fighters and Knuckles to locate the Emeralds. They all gathered at the Emeralds location, with Robotnik, Grimer, Chaos and even Sonic returning from the past for this grand finale. As Chaos absorbed the Emeralds, it became unstoppable, even as the team pushed through their fear to try and attack and take back the absorbed Emeralds. Their salvation came in the form of Super Sonic; without Chaos Energy, he had been slowly dying. By charging into Chaos, he drained the monster of it's power and returned to full strength.

This presented a new problem. Namely, Super Sonic was rejuvenated and hostile once more, murdering the Drakon who had been Chaos and turning his powers on the Freedom Fighters. It was only through a magic spell from an inhabitant of the Special Zone that Super Sonic and Sonic were recombined into one being, subduing him for the time being until Sonic's emotions get the better of him. With Chaos defeated and Super Sonic currently not a threat, Amy and her friends now face joining the efforts to rebuild Mobius once more and attempting to restore Angel Island from where it sunk into the ocean...

Personality: Bubbly and upbeat, Amy keeps her head held high even in dire circumstances, fighting constantly to keep Mobius and it's people safe from invasion and tyrants such as Dr. Robotnik. Her friends are the most important thing to her, very closely followed by the safety of her planet. She tries to keep her friends spirits up, doing her best to help them pull through difficult times. She tries to see the best in people and believes they can do good (the exception of course, being Dr. Robotnik). She firmly sticks to a policy of saving others over hurting/chasing down an enemy, putting others lives before objectives. One thing that can never be doubted is her determination and sense of justice. She's stood up to evil even before being taken in by the Freedom Fighters and nothing has stopped her from defending the people and home she loves. Losing one of her closest friends in the line of duty has only increased her fiery determination to protect those around her.

Amy is confident in her abilities, even when others doubt her.  She takes pride in her marksmanship skills, performing shots with astounding accuracy and even using it as part of her performance act in Bob Beaky's Circus. Despite her pride, she rarely gloats or seeks credit for the work she does as a Freedom Fighter. She's actually quite humble, stemming from a time when Robotnik owned Mobius - it helped the citizens to see Sonic as a symbol of hope, so she would let him take credit for her deeds to give the people a hero to rally behind. Her quick, straight forward thinking has enabled her to problem-solve on the go and has helped the Freedom Fighters create alliances towards crippling Robotnik's empire.

There are two major differences to this Amy than to those who might appear in other realities. One is her maturity. The events and nature of her reality; living in a world completely dominated by Robotnik, taking command of the Freedom Fighters in Sonic's absence, witnessing firsthand the death of her friend Johnny Lightfoot and nearly being killed herself at the hands of Super Sonic; have made this Amy far less childish and made her grow up a little. While still playful, she's nowhere near as immature as she once was. The second is her relationship with one Sonic the Hedgehog. She may still be a romantic at heart but her heart isn't nailed to Sonic. It used to be when she was younger, when she claimed to be his girlfriend, but her crush has slowly lessened to a far more mild fondness. Not that it stops her from teasing him and playing along when people mistakenly assume they're an item.

Appearance: Amy is an anthropomorphic pink hedgehog with long eyelashes, brown eyes and a spikey fringe. Her quills are styled in a buzzsaw over her head. If left then they fall back into a natural style, only curling up at the tips. She sometimes wears her hair in a style resembling a bobcut but it takes more effort. She also has a tail quill which is normally hidden under her clothing.

She has a variety of outfits she wears including skirts, trousers, jumpers, a white bomber jacket and t-shirts with various emblems and designs on them. She largely wore the skirts when she was younger and has recently started wearing more trousers and jackets. When in disguise she'll don more obscure/exotic clothing - naturally this works best on Mobius where being a pink hedgehog isn't an immediate giveaway to one's identity. On other worlds, she uses a plain brown cloak to hide her features.

Abilities:
Marksmanship
An ability Amy has honed for many years, her skills with a crossbow are second to none in Mobius. She's displayed deadly accuracy regardless of weather conditions, movement, pressure or stress. While she favours her own handmade crossbow, she can also use guns and bows just as well. She rarely aims at other living beings due to her unwillingness to grievously hurting someone and when given the option she used a dart gun over more dangerous options to subdue, rather than injure. She used this skill as part of her performance in Bob Beaky's Traveling Circus, with her friend Porker Lewis as her 'target'.

Melee Combat
Amy has shown that she is capable in hand to hand combat and packs a strong punch, tough enough to knock out weaker foes. She's also able to flip/toss foes judo-style, as well as block incoming punches. She's far more deadly with her crossbow but she's no pushover without it.

Leadership/Charisma
As she's grown and found her place within the Freedom Fighters, Amy's proven herself to be naturally charismatic and a strong leader. She does her best to keep the team together, form plans and execute them, mindful of the group's strengths and weaknesses. She's respectful of others and can often rally up her friends and rise spirits when times are bleak or at least drive them to continue in spite of the trouble or despair they're facing. She's even managed to lead the people of Metropolis into rioting against Robotnik!

Ride/Drive
Amy's been shown to be capable of piloting small, single-manned vehicles and has even been shown riding an Earth horse. She cannot pilot planes however - her expertise is limited to ground craft and she's only known to be proficient at this, not an expert.

Inventory: Amy typically carries a communicator and a handmade crossbow on her person when exploring unknown zones. Otherwise, her equipment and computer systems are typically carried on a 'required' basis.

Suite: Amy is very used to living with other people and would be uncomfortable living on her own. Similarly she'd be uncomfortable in any location that draws attention to itself, a side effect of spending years of your life on the run or in hiding from a tyrant. A quiet, countryside home would be her dream, with the technology and security of old Freedom Fighter bases and her friends as roommates.

The video feed hisses to live, revealing a smiling, relaxed Amy Rose.]

Hey! It seems like I'll be staying in this dimension for a little while, so it seems best to open channels. My name is Amy Rose. If any of my friends are out there, please call me on the usual frequency! But I'm always up for meeting new people too, especially if there's any trouble. Nobody should have to live in fear of tyrants or troublemakers and I'll do everything I can to stop them! I'll check in again once I've gotten my bearings and found a place to crash. Amy Rose, out!

Third Person:

Amy shut off her handheld comm. It had been a long time since she had been out by herself, at least in 'grand adventuring' terms. In truth, she hadn't really missed it. After Chaos' rampage, she'd much rather be with her friends to make sure they were okay. Recent events had hit all of them hard, more emotionally than physically. But feelings could burden them so heavily...she had seen first-hand the stress weigh on Knuckles and Sonic.

The fog was lifting as morning gave way as she walked through the city. She was always brought to worlds in trouble by the Eternity Ring, although this felt different to those summons. Logic told her that if she was brought here, then this city needed her. Maybe it was also a blessing. She had been pushing aside her own feelings and grief to try and manage the others. Maybe here, if she was alone, she could focus on herself for a little while. Even if that was probably a selfish move.

It was almost too much to take in all at once but it didn't stop her from trying to observe what she could while focusing on her destination. If 'Bending' was a core power in this world, a power she could access and hone, it only made sense to study it and try to master the basics while she was here. No need to handicap herself by refusing to adapt, especially if there was a school. Hopefully they were accepting students. If not then she'd have to find other ways to learn.

It'd help if she knew what the school looked like or had a map. For now she was getting a good look around and some exercise, trying to memorize the landmarks or interesting buildings she saw. She'd find her way. She always did eventually.

Additional Information

CANON RELATIONS:
Sonic the Hedgehog: Her childhood hero and crush, Amy and Sonic get along...somewhat. Being drafted into the Freedom Fighters due to becoming a wanted criminal, she learned about what the famed hero was really like. The years spent together has made them tight friends, although Sonic still becomes annoyed with her behaviour at times and Amy has wised up beyond her idolization of him. Though it doesn't stop her playing up her crush to tease and purposefully annoy him when others assume they're a couple.

Miles "Tails" Prower: Amy cares for Tails and often encourages him to be himself and not to stress too much about being as cool or tough as Sonic. She enjoys teaching him new things and worries whenever he's hit by an attack, despite his repeated assurances that he's tougher than he looks. She knows that he is one of the most reliable members of the team and has a lot of untapped potential, though she isn't aware of the heroics he's gotten up to away from the Freedom Fighters.

Porker Lewis: Amy and Porker have always been supportive of each other - she even gave him a kiss on the cheek after he remote controlled a Metallix and rigged it to explode. She defended him when, after the trauma he suffered from being held hostage by the Brotherhood of Metallix, Porker expressed a desire to leave the Freedom Fighters. The pair remain in touch after he moved to Angel Island and Porker assists from time to time from the base; Amy makes sure he's dragged into fieldwork as little as possible.

Johnny Lightfoot (deceased): Before his death, Amy and Johnny were close friends. He helped rescue her from Robotnik when she was first captured and the pair often worked together in missions. He didn't doubt her abilities and she appreciated his encouragement and backup, including the times he assured Sonic as to her usefulness. His death devastated Amy, although she tried to keep herself together to help the others through their grieving.

Knuckles the Echidna:
While not a member of the Freedom Fighters, Amy and Knuckles get along well.  She keeps in touch with him and Porker on Angel Island, updating them on developments and checking on how they're doing as well. When Angel Island fell she quickly forced him to evacuate and, as he angrily lamented failing his duty, she asked Knuckles to listen to her so she could attempt to comfort him on the tragedy of losing his home and the Emeralds.

Tekno the Canary: Amy was quick to befriend Tekno, glad to have another girl in the Freedom Fighters. They often went on adventures together, becoming champions of the Eternity Ring and traveling to other dimensions and timezones in trouble. The two began to teach each other skills, Tekno teaching Amy about technology and Amy teaching Tekno about combat.

Shortfuse: While they've clashed before due to their tempers and headstrong opinions, Amy still considers Shortfuse a friend and worries about his safety when he vanishes for several months or gets grievously injured. She appreciates his strength and values the times they can work together, before Shortfuse goes off to do his own thing once more.

Dr. Robotnik: Amy harbours no secret affection for Dr. Robotnik and knows him to be rotten through and through. As long as he is alive and free in Mobius she believes the world to be in danger, and while she won't attempt to kill him she remains vigilant against his forces. Robotnik doesn't think greatly of her either, knowing her as a Freedom Fighter with some personal connection to Sonic.

HEADCANONS/CONTINUITY NOTES:
  • She has a deck of tarot cards that used to belong to her mother. She can read them somewhat accurately but mostly treats it as a hobby. She's interested and enjoys various acts of fortune telling.
  • Amy learned how to fight hand to hand with the help of Johnny, with occasional lessons from Knuckles too.
  • Time passing in the comics was sort of loose and vague, and it doesn't help that no ages are given for the characters. So I headcanon that Amy was 10 when she joined the Freedom Fighters. Mobius was ruled by Robotnik for roughly three and a half years, making her around 13. As it's been about two years since, that puts her age at about 15/16 years old.
  • Amy was given a backstory in the comics but it causes a number of continuity errors, so is often considered noncanon. I use parts of it as a headcanon for Amy's background. That is, she was captured by Robotnik for an experiment to recreate the incident that caused Sonic to turn blue and unleash his potential. It failed and she was tossed out/escaped. Following this she started to try and get the local people to fight against Robotnik but couldn't convince them until she claimed to be Sonic's girlfriend, which led to the events of her first appearance.
